Raytio provides an unbranded mobile app that reads ePassport chips and performs a live-person check, writing the extracted, digitally signed data straight into your own object store. No end-user account is needed - the user just scans a QR code - and passport data never passes to Raytio.
How it works
- Your web client requests an extract flow and displays a QR code.
- The user scans it with the app, reads their passport chip over NFC, and completes a live-person check.
- Only the data groups you requested are extracted, digitally signed, and written to your own object store via a pre-signed URL.
- Your system receives the signed extract - tamper-evident, because the signature covers every field.
Why Raytio
Extracted data goes straight to your store - passport data never passes to Raytio, avoiding privacy and security concerns.
Data comes from the document's signed chip with the issuer's certificate chain checked, and the signed extract cannot be altered afterwards.
Only the data groups you select are read - capture just what you need, nothing more.
